DECA at 350 degrees bakery

The Mahtomedi Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Club and Class students are using their business skills to support the annual district-wide Zephyr Service Project.

This year, the group is helping in several ways. One way is meeting a critical need identified by our families who apply for gift assistance for hats, gloves, and socks. Students connected with several local businesses to host collection boxes in their businesses this month. These items will be combined with the donations our schools collect for the Zephryr Service Project gift assistance program. Community members can drop off new hats, gloves, and socks at these businesses: 350 Bakery, the Wild Bean, Ty Haschig - State Farm Agent, and Curio Dance in Stillwater.

In addition to connecting with local businesses, DECA also recently visited Wildwood Elementary School. Some of our first-grade students recently worked with our DECA students to make posters encouraging their peers to bring in new books for the Zephyr Service Project. The students made posters, chatted with the MHS students about helping others, and then walked around the school and put up the posters. Click here to see photos from the event.
