Strategic Plan

During the 2022-23 school year, Mahtomedi Public Schools conducted a strategic plan update process to reflect the growth and momentum our district has made since the 2019 strategic plan and to set new aspirations and actions.

We used a community-built strategic plan model, and over 100 students, staff, families, and community members have engaged in the process of drafting the plan.

On June 22, the Mahtomedi School Board reviewed and unanimously approved the Strategic Plan package.

The newly adopted Strategic Plan is a comprehensive plan that identifies our aspirations as a district, results that we want to see for students who go through Mahtomedi Public Schools, and the actionable steps we want to see over time.

The overview document provides an overview of each component of the plan.

“The strategic planning process brought the community together to learn from each other, talk about what matters, and come to agreement around the aspirational goals to move our district forward. This plan was built by our community, and calls for high expectations and high levels of support as our students confidently create their future.”

Barb Duffrin, Superintendent

“The Board looks forward to the implementation of the strategic plan to advance the strong foundation of rigorous academics and real-world skills for our students. We appreciate the hard work of staff, students, parents, and community members who contributed their time and energy to the strategic plan process. We will continue to ensure our students have a strong academic foundation in our Zephyr community that values diversity, honors individuality, and fosters partnership.”
