Tech Levy

A primary source of technology funding at Mahtomedi Public Schools is a voter-approved Capital Projects Levy for Technology (commonly called a technology levy). The technology levy funds staff and student devices, critical technology infrastructure, training and tech support, and essential teaching and learning tools. This levy has been in place since 2002 with the most recent renewal being in 2021.

Responsible Stewards

We remain committed to innovation and being responsible stewards of our resources. Since 2018, our district has worked to reestablish fiscal stability. In 2022, the district budget reserve is now stable and above the Mahtomedi School Board policy of 8%. We have maximized all local, state, and federal grant funding as well as voter-approved funding to support our district’s technology needs. We will continue this mixed-funding approach and focus on improving our classroom tools, creating support for instructional innovation, ensuring we maintain our infrastructure and security, and providing critically important staff support and professional learning about technology.
